New report: Post-disclosure survival strategies

Society is not doing enough to support whistleblowers who, while protected in theory by law in the UK, can lose their jobs after speaking up, says a study of whistleblowers’ post-disclosure survival strategies carried out by Professor Kate Kenny and Professor Marianna Fotaki. In an 18-month study between 2016 and 2018 researchers interviewed 58 whistleblowers and 17 experts, and gathered quantitative data from a survey of 92 whistleblowers with the aim of measuring and quantifying the personal costs for people who leave their role as a result of speaking out.
